My Cooter's History Blog has become about 80% World War II anyway, so I figured to start a blog specific to it, especially since we're commemorating its 70th anniversary and we are quickly losing this "Greatest Generation." The quote is taken from Pearl Harbor survivor Frank Curre, who was on the USS Tennessee that day. He died Dec. 7, 2011, seventy years to the day. His photo is below at right.

"Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)"-- Part 1
Because of the anniversary of 9-11, I will again write about it in all seven of my blogs.
This song hit me hard back then. By Alan Jackson.
**************************
Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?
Were in the yard with your wife and children?
Or working on some stage in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock
At the sight of that black smoke
Risin' against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?
