The USS North Carolina (BB-55) My all-time favorite warship. As an elementary school student in North Carolina, I donated nickels and dimes to save this ship back in the early sixties.

"Publicity on the number of recruits, their names and destinations was halted by the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps recruiting offices here yesterday, with the explanation that such information was considered a military secret."
